If you don't have a save like that, you'll have to do it the hard way by continuing to mine in Gecko Station until you find all the pieces again. At worst, you'll just have an unfinished mission. Qi is one of the easiest characters to locate in Sandrock, as he never leaves the Research Center. The Research Center can be found on the northern part of Sandrock, south of the Museum, and north of Mi-an's home.
