WIth sacred oath and sunlight blade The DPS is hiliarious in PvE, and the L1 L2 R2 combo eats people alive. They also have great rushdown with the running L1. Yeah, they are insane in PvE--the stagger is as impressive as the damage and speed.
2-handing the Sellsword Twinblades is already my jam. 1-handing a curved GS and a regular curved sword is fun (especially because the Sellsword Twinblades are one of the curved swords that can parry when equipped in the left hand). 2-handing the Old Wolf Curved GS is fun. In summary, I'm really happy with the addition of the Old Wolf Curved GS ...There is no best PvE weapon. I for one can demolish the ENTIRE game with ease (save Darkeater Fuckface) with the Astora Greatsword and no dedicated build, base requirements only. With the Sellsword Twinblades though, I need a dedicated build otherwise I'm ass, even then I struggle. For PvE it is 100% what you prefer. ….

The broadsword is a very odd weapon to contend with the Twinblades. Broadsword generally fills the niche of a level1 playthrough weapon but not much else. It's much shorter than other straight swords and doesn't have much for a move set. The Lothric Straight Sword is a popular item to make Sharp for a Dex Build.Sellsword Twinblades are great if you go very high on Dex and make them Sharp via Infusion. They're arguably the best weapon for PvE, and inarguably one of the best. They're by no means the only viable PvE weapon, and they're not great in PvP, but that doesn't make them less good.
