Your gun with a "C" serial number prefix cannot be a Mountie, as the "C" prefix indicates your gun was made in 1946. Problem is, the 39-A Mountie did not come out until 1953 with a letter "K" prefix and a 24 inch barrel which was later changed to a 20 inch barrel.

THEN IT'S A PRE-WW2 39A. If the barrel says "Microgrooved", then the serial number will either have a letter(s) prefix up to 1968, start with 69-71, or after that it will have IIRC the serial number on the top tang where you have to subtract the first 2 digits from 2000.
