Cleaned off the pickup on the flywheel, ran a new lead from trigger unit to coil, and tractor fired right up. Shut it off, let sit a minute, fired right back up. Let itnsit 10 minutes and now no spark again. It is not the ignition switch as I have the coil wired directly to the trigger unit for testing. onan B model B43G-GA018/4327D L853-959817. It looks like your jumper to 12 volts is done correctly -- so if the other terminal of the coil is getting switched up and down it should provide spark.
I have a 1983 Deere 318 (Ser #229703) that has no spark. It has new plugs, wires, points, condenser, and coil, as well as a new ignition switch (all just done by previous owner).
