1 post · Joined 2022. #20 · Nov 16, 2022. The 2012 JGC Limited 5.7 that we ordered from Jeep at the end of 2011 has had the shutting off while driving problem. We replaced the relay on our own when it wouldn't start and we were stranded and had it towed before the recall. It was replaced again with the recall.Hey my 2020 Jeep Compass trail hawk is literally having the same problems with stopping at a light or even driving and the car would say it’s overheating, car would shut off then I would turn it on and the message would be gone. Been happening for couple weeks now. I have it in the shop right now but they can’t even find the problem

Sometimes the fuel filter gets enough crud in it that it restricts fuel flow and when the engine dies the fuel system catches up and will start again.
