Turn off the gas valve (petcock), clean the spark plug and try again in a few hours without turning the fuel back on.

If you could get it to start it would die suddenly and there would be no spark or voltage to the coil. I replaced the CDI box under the front plastics (approx $55) and its been great ever since.1993 Honda 300. Seafoam "In every tank". Mobil1 4T 10w-40 (great stuff) Superwinch Terra 35/synthetic rope, !/4 inch plate winch mount. AMS Swampfox front 23x8x11, GBC dirt devils 25x12x9 rear. Soon to be changed to 4x4 wheels rear and STI Black Diamonds all around.Replaced the spark plug. Also I noticed the positive to the battery had two wires going to it and tied together was butchered.
