The dealer should be able to read the sensor battery life level with their TPMS programmer. That is the most common caouse of sensor failure, but being new, it seems unlikely that it is a battery. Nonetheless, I would ask them to tell you the batt life in each sensor.I have a 2012 Impreza. It will disable cruise and flash the cruise control indicator on the dash if it sees any issues. It is usually accompanied by a check engine light (CEL), but not always. It may also include the ABS light, hill assist light, and the stability control light. My 2013 XV did the same. Pretty standard for Subaru vehicles.

When a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is set and the CEL (Check Engine Light) turns on X mode is disabled along with many other systems that rely on the cars various systems to be working OK. A CEL means something is not working OK.Check engine light + blinking cruise light. I have a 2009 Subaru forester. Funny thing..Exact same thing happened to me the other day after an oil change (DIY) and removed the air filter for cleaning.Discussion of the accompanying flashing CRUISE indicator seems to have been omitted form the 2012 manual. The combination of the CEL and the VDC warning lights is an indication that the could be a VDC malfunction. See OM page 3-23. We'll be interested in hearing about your dealer's diagnosis and corrective action.

Car is a XT MY07 has only done 55000 k's in great condition both dealers also valued it at $8000 on a trade in. Depressing the accelerator gets a sluggish response, but once the foz is moving there seems to be no serious issue with engine performance. A couple of times ...I dug out my code reader.....erased the code (p0244) on the fly..cruise light was still flashing..hit the cruise on/off button, cruise light went off and then it worked as normal. so just an FYI you don't have to stop and cycle your ignition switch to clear an intermittent CEL to regain the use of your cruise control. a6n6d6y.
