Feb 27, 2018. #1. I’ve been working on my 8n since December and I started for the first time since then. The problem is it’s only running on the two cylinders closest to the dash. It is getting fuel and good spark at all cylinders. I flooded it pretty bad and fouled the two plugs that weren’t firing.If it is choking it would have gas dripping out the air intake of the carb. Things that might be wrong are carb set to lean, Timing off. A couple plug wires hooked up wrong and out of firing order. Firing order is 1,2,4,3. #1 cylinder up by the radiator. Point gap for the front mount is 0.015 and for the side mount 0.025.You can work out the firing order of your engine by removing the rocker cover, identify the inlet valves, turn the crankshaft in the direction of rotation (clockwise looking from the front – timing gears end) until number one inlet valve rocker operates.
