The A prefix on the serial number may also suggest a post war gun but I’d need all my references to know for sure. Per research in 1969 Browning started with serial number 1000 and then a letter designation for the ga and two digits for year. This shotgun's serial number is below 2000 so is one of the first 1000 made, I think, starting in 1969. But instead of a letter and two digits after serial number this one has just S9.Hmm!!
