Dec 6, 2008 · This pump, motor for that fact, valves, injectors,etc have never been touched in 3,200 hrs. I change the oil every 100 hrs , and it's got near 3,300 or a bit more after running the auger this fall. Slow cranking and short solenoid life is a symptom of a 4020 that needs an auxiliary cranking relay installed.A 4020 diesel has two thermostats. IIRC, idle adjustment is made at the injection pump. PTO brake adjustment is dependent on transmission type; SyncroRange tractors may be just a linkage adjustment. Or the internal PTO brake may be shot. I never fussed with a Powershift.
