I just signed up. I own and have owned many Rugers; rifles, semi-autos and revolvers. Generally, I have been very pleased with their reliability and accuracy. I took delivery of a Security-9 last week and went to the range yesterday. The attached pictures show the trigger safety sticks when trigger is pulled, it will not reset. It's not a gun to like any more. The very first time at the range, the trigger froze up, locked up, tight after only 17 rounds of Fiocchi. Sent it in to Ruger and got it back a week later with a new trigger, springs, etc.

I have had a Security 9 Compact for year. It us my EDC, and I carry every day year round. It is an economy gun. To keep it economical some coatings are not as durable as those if more expensive guns. I had a Walther PPS M2 with a Tenerite coating. It seemed indestructible.

Sep 30, 2014 · Here's a few things to check: 1) Since you said it happens on the same cylinder, examine the 'star' on the back of the cylinder and make sure each leg of the star is full size. Look for one that shows more wear than the others. Also make sure the cylinder turns freely. 2) If the legs all look pretty good, perhaps the 'hand' that comes out of ... Kinda unbalanced with the short 10 round mag; kinda unbalanced the other way with the 17 rounder. The Security 9 is, to me, a fine compromise for size and balance. If you like the feel in your hand of a Glock 19, you'll probably like the Security 9. And the price is right. Good luck to you.
My newly purchased Ruger Security 9 has a problem ejecting the spent casing. It doesn't always grab the casing to eject and causes a jam.
