A year ago (March 2020)I installed a nest 3rd generation, it took me a day or two to get it running properly, I had to ran C wire for it to run properly, all that was good, I got the A/C and Furnace running no problem. A week ago (April 2021) all of the sudden, the nest stop getting the Rh wire signal.With separate red wires (one R for the heating and Rc for cooling) you need the Nest Learning thermostat that has a Rh for your R wire and an Rc. Also advise connecting the blue wire to C at the new thermostat and at the air handler to provide stable power for the new thermostat. 2. Reply. Gio235.Next go look at the air handler and do the same thing starting from the transformer this time checking for 24vac power, follow schematics and the voltage will go to the thermostat then return and go both to a contactor for the air handler as well as down a set of wires that goes to the outside unit.I believe that thermostat is a simple Rh and W connection. In theory whether you connect one adapter wire to RC and physically jumpered the RH or connect the adapter wire to RH directly, you will have the same result and will resolve your issue.
