190E C32 engine swap. I am new to the board and looking for a run down on what is required for this swap. The swap is going to be done on a 190e 2.6. I have looked into which engines to choose and the C32 AMG 3.2 seemed like the better choice given it was smaller then the C36 engine and better power with the SC.Ok, my friend had a 1986 Mercedes 190E 16-valve and some tool plowed into it by our work and destroyed his frame. Stock 8v flywheel weighs about 30lbs while the 16v weighs 15lbs. It's a matter of preference and what you want to do with the car.

I used the 190e. 2.3 16 Getrag which is what the OP intends to use. No need for custom driveshaft, sections can be merged. So I have a 1990 190e auto and a 1991 2.3 5 speed with a bent frame. The trans is a 717.413 and the flywheel is m1040300405. I know I'll need to get a new pilot bearing and the clutch kit.The manual transmission for the 190E 2.3 16V is specific for the that model the transmission 717404 is made by Getrug and it's very hard to get and more expensive then other manual transmissions. And you're going to need the pedals, shifter with rods specific for the 717404 transmission driveshaft also specific for that 16V flywheel good luck.
